"Vacation" June 11th

“Vacation” is the upcoming theme for my next online Solar Playback performance. What does vacation mean for you? Nostalgia? Sweet memories? Suffering in the back seat? Rainy camping? Summer camp? What does vacation feel like as a kid versus an adult? How has your ideal vacation evolved over the years? What do you need to ‘vacate’ from? Are vacations overrated? Have you ever had an ideal getaway? What makes a vacation great?

During a typical online performance, participants are encouraged to share their associations on the theme and have a chance to talk one-on-one with another participant during a short breakout session. Stories are told to the whole group and played back for all to enjoy and witness.

I make liberal use of the camera, sometimes using my hands as puppets, sometimes singing the story back, or using fabric, or musical instruments… you never know how a story will be honored!
