About Erin

I do what I love now, but that wasn’t always the case. After years unhappily doing a job I knew was someone’s dream job, I took the leap and left a prestigious academic position teaching French. Through that experience I’ve come to value the courage and presence it takes to be true to oneself.

As a certified personal and professional Life Coach, I aim to be of maximum service to those on the path of discovering their movement. I find the coaching space to be one of deep insights, honesty, humor, and surprises. I am in awe of my clients’ willingness to explore what lies at the root of their challenges, just I am grateful for their creativity and uniqueness. Through my training I have learned that there is nothing like the coaching space to catalyze growth and spark desired change!

In addition to my work as a certified coach, I have over a decade of experience performing and conducting a unique, community-centered form of improv called Playback. Alongside monthly public performances with the Teller’s Garden in Portland, Maine, I also perform online and in person with my solo playback company, Solar Playback.

Another longtime passion of mine is movement and dance. As a 2nd Degree Nia Black Belt Teacher, I guide adults of all ages online and in person through energizing and restorative movement that blends martial arts, dance and healing arts.

Newfield Network Professional Life Coach

Over the course of 9 months in 2021, I had the honor of completing the Newfield Network’s Personal and Professional Coach Training Program. This in-depth program was a phenomenal, transformative experience for me. I had the privilege of training alongside an international cohort of men and women from Asia, Africa, Europe, South and North America. I now practice one-on-one Life Coaching with clients in Maine and around the world. I am also certified with the International Coaching Federation and abide by their Ethical Standards in my own practice.

Talk Show Host

In 2019 I launched a talk show called The Current on Biddeford Public Access TV. Now, I produce the show from my home! View all of the shows in one convenient playlist on YouTube here. Dive in with me and a featured guest for inspiration on life change, sparking curiosity and shifting perspective!

marathoner

I love the feeling of finishing a marathon! I’ve successfully completed four whole marathons (26.2 miles) and two half-marathons (13.1 miles) and am looking forward to my next race! I find dressing up for a race is a blast, and has the added benefit of eliciting extra cheers from the on-lookers!

Nia 2nd Degree Black Belt Teacher

I fell in love with the movement practice and lifestyle training of the Nia Technique in 2008. Since then I have taught thousands of classes in person and online, led workshops at schools for children and at fairs, hospitals, and community centers for adults, presented on Nia at PechaKucha events and Women’s Conferences, and generally basked in the glory of Nia’s benefits. In addition to teaching weekly classes on Zoom, I actively maintain my Nia practice by engaging in yearly trainings and investing in my continued personal and professional growth.

Improvisor & performer

I have been performing improv (Playback) since 2009 — originally with Portland Playback Theatre and now on First Fridays in Portland, Maine, with The Teller’s Garden. I also perform solo playback online and in person, with my company Solar Playback! In addition, I offer regular online improv classes for the improv-curious.. Could that be that YOU?
