Trusting Self
I had the distinct honor and pleasure of bringing my one-person Playback to the WHERE partners closing celebration event at the Maine Maritime Museum last month.
Over the course of 2025 partners from all over Maine worked together to create multiple events for the general public centered on surfacing untold or repressed histories of Black and Indigenous people here in Maine.
Whether or not you participated in a Walk for Historical and Ecological Recovery (WHERE), you can discover and tap into the incredible abundance of research, lesson plans, artwork, and more by accessing the WHERE archives here.
Founder and Executive Director of Atlantic Black Box, Meadow Dibble had this to say about Solar Playback at the event:
“Thank you deeply and sincerely for imbuing our partner gathering with meaning and cracking our hearts open wide. You made the evening sing!! We laughed, we cried, we sat in awkward silence, and you showed us what courage and love can look like in community. Thank you so much for sharing your gifts with us and for leaving us all feeling closer and more connected.
My one regret when you handed me the mic directly following your playback was not having had the presence of mind to reiterate your own words -- "It takes a lot of trust to stand up here---a lot of trust in myself." May we all be so brave, so vulnerable, and so committed to using our own unique gifts in meeting this and every moment.”
The most common words used by participants to describe how they feel after a Solar Playback experience are:
Connected
Enlivening
Inspired
Moved
Caring
Grateful
Imagine the possibilities for your group with the addition of Solar Playback. What moments could be witnessed? What true stories surfaced? What perspectives shared and light shed? What new insights into one another could arise?
