Interdependence 6/7

Here is Pastor Holly at The Neighborhood recently bringing the ‘good news’ … I’ll be sharing in the context of their “Open Pulpit” Sundays, when community members are invited to share on meaningful topics.

I’ve been invited to return to The Neighborhood (United Church of Christ) in Bath, Maine, on Sunday, June 7th and would love for you to be there too!

It is my firm belief that welcoming, inclusive spaces where we are all invited to tell our stories is needed now more than ever. Playback theatre is a co-creation between storyteller and actor(s). Without true stories shared from the audience, there is no performance! Playback celebrates our shared humanity, while honoring the individual voices present.

I was last at The Neighborhood in December 2025 and am delighted to return for more true storytelling and honoring with Playback.

Our theme:

Interconnectivity/Interdependence: It's easy to believe the myth of our independence in this life, given our cultural references to "going it alone", "pulling oneself up by the bootstraps", "a self-made person" etc. etc. What stories come to mind when you think of your own interdependence? In what ways has your life been a hymn to interconnectivity? What specific moments illustrate this to you? What gifts and challenges does interdependence bring?

My time at The Neighborhood will include remarks followed by a performance portion where “neighbors” —those present— will be invited to share stories spontaneously.

I hope you will join us on Sunday June 7th at 10am at 798 Washington St, Bath, ME. All are welcome!
