Improv for Life: Summer Session
Improv for Life: Summer session 2026
Join Erin online for five 75-minute sessions this June to learn and practice the skills at the heart of improvisation. Discover how these skills can enhance your life!
Improvisation: the act of making or doing something not planned beforehand, using whatever can be found
Wouldn’t it be nice if there were a space where we could practice the life skills we never learned in school? A supportive yet energized, playful yet practical, focused yet fluid space where we could get better at… being human?
This June join me online for an improvisation class where the focus is placed on exactly that: how improv skills help us navigate the challenges and complexities of being human. This is not a how-to-get-a-laugh-as-fast-as-you-can class (though—fair warning—we tend to laugh a lot). This is a creativity boosting, fun, grounded, loosening, co-created experience aimed at giving you tools to practice in your day to day life.
Five consecutive Monday evenings over Zoom, from 6:15pm-7:30pm EDT
June 8
June 15
June 22
June 29
July 6
+ 30 minute optional peer-to-peer session(s)
Some of the skills you will learn and practice in this 5-week course are:
creativity and resourcefulness: using existing knowledge and imagination to generate new ideas
active listening, receptivity: truly hearing input from others, and our own internal cues
adaptability, flexibility: adjusting to changing circumstances and unexpected turns in the moment
teamwork and collaboration: building on others' ideas instead of shutting them down
developing communication skills: speaking with ease and clarity, awareness of eye contact and body language, empathy, the use of silence, storytelling, public speaking, overall demeanor
confidence: trusting your ability to handle the unknown
What participants are saying about their experience:
“I learned more that I am able to be spontaneous with less judgment and constriction. That was a wonderful discovery, as I have typically been the "frozen chosen" type and the “wallflower” in the past. THANK you from the bottom of my heart.”
“Not thinking, just responding or doing or letting my body respond instead of my mind was HUGE!”
“I had such a blast and looked forward to every class. You are such an amazing leader, using humor, listening, validating, including, pivoting, and being innovative. I have So much appreciation for what you do. THANKS!!”
Not convinced? Still on the proverbial fence?
“Jump over that fence! You'll be so glad that you did it, as you see how much you will gain confidence, support, spontaneity and fluidity. There is no right or wrong in this class, and no one has to have experience or skill ahead of time. AND it is so much FUN!! A total BLAST.”

About the teacher:
Erin Curren discovered the joys of improv in 2007, at a low time in her life when the creative influx helped her see the light. She has been performing Playback Theater, a form of improvisation that honors audience members' spontaneously told stories, on a monthly basis for the public since 2008 and most recently has added solo Playback to her offerings. In addition, Erin works as a Life Coach, trained and certified with the Newfield Network. Learn more at www.erincurren.com
