A Daily Sit, anyone?

I believe reclaiming our attention is one of the most important things we can do.

Our attention has been highjacked by screens, smartphones, news, and any number of bright shiny objects orbiting our heads at a given moment.

Have you also noticed this phenomenon?

Perhaps you already have a daily practice of walking or sitting undistracted.

If not, you are welcome to join me every morning at 6am online. I have become a regular at the Open Door Insight Meditation’s daily sit. You can learn more and find the link to join here.

For the past three years I have become increasingly drawn to Insight Meditation, even taking an annual retreat ranging from 4-7 days of silence. During these silent retreats, I refrain from any screen time, reading, journaling or writing, crafting, or other activity besides sitting and walking meditation, and the necessities of life in a body (eating, drinking, sleeping, etc.).

Thanks to Rajat Verma for this image.

This has been an extremely impactful practice for me personally, leading to deep insights and awareness building.

If you’d like a partner to find and grow your own mindful practice with, I am happy to accompany you in that.

However you quiet your mind and listen to the Mystery, know that I am with you in the pursuit of reclaiming our attention. For the short time we get to be alive, I intend to be present!
