The Nia 5 Stages is an integrative movement practice based on the five stages of human development: Embryonic, Creeping, Crawling, Standing and Walking. Practiced with awareness, these stages have the power to facilitate optimal alignment, improved function and comfort in the body. I recommend doing this practice in the morning and/or before bed.
Follow this video with the sound on to be guided in your own movement exploration of the five stages. Feel free to spend longer in each stage as you feel comfortable. Notice what arises in your experience as you gain wisdom from tuning in to your body’s way of moving organically on the floor and in space.
